How to find yourself?
The desire to find yourself begins a long and fantastic journey. To do this, it is essential to understand your values and interests, become self-sufficient and start living as you want. Such a desire is not an easy task. But those who have found their recognition understand that its search is worth it.
- Looking for vocations – no need
No matter how banal it may be, the search must begin with the rejection of it. It would help if you did not waste time digging in yourself and finding the correct answer, i.e., revealing the true vocation hidden in the depths of your consciousness. In this puzzle, you risk getting lost for a long time.
To take the first step, choose something interesting for yourself. Just learn something new or try to learn about something, go beyond “your habitat,” attend meetings from attractive communities, etc.
No need to quit your business; choose something unique and make sudden decisions. Just try something new and exciting for yourself.
- Understand your thoughts and separate them from the opinions of others
For many, life seems to go on autopilot. They graduate from school, get a job, get married, and have children … All this is good, but is there a place for self-realization in this situation? Take some time for yourself and highlight the beliefs that society has forced on you. If you listen only to what others say, blindly accepting their concepts of «good» and «bad,» – this is a big mistake. It would help if you had your own opinion on this.
- Stop procrastinating everything
Many try to put off life until later and wait for a miracle for years. Often people expect something to happen and get off the ground on its own. And the more a person does nothing for his happiness, the more difficult it is for him to change something in the future. Therefore, do not put off your dreams for later.
- Ask yourself tough questions
Those that help to look at the world with a broader view. And write down all the answers. Save all this. This will be a good stimulus for your mind, which will be able to appreciate personal growth throughout life. For example, questions can be: “Who am I?”, “If I had a chance to change the past, what would I change?”, “What words do I use to describe a person who is successful in my opinion” etc.
- Expand your area of interest
It often happens when you don’t like the job at all. In this case, you must look for other ways to earn money.
But what if you have no interests and do not understand what you want? Then it is essential to conduct surveillance for what is happening around. Once a week, give yourself time to get new information. Sign up and go to master classes, look for information, and listen to various online lessons.
It is better to start with educational platforms. Try everything before you figure out which niche will be “catchy” for you. At this stage, every passion should not be labeled “My life’s work.” The main task is to expand your horizons and free yourself from professional shackles.
This stage of the so-called exploration can take from 2–3 months to a year. So you can make a list of activities that you like and find among them something truly interesting for yourself.
Also, working with a psychologist will help you find yourself, so you will be sure and not make mistakes. I am a psychologist/psychotherapist with extensive experience and will be happy to help you; you can choose a convenient time and date here.
